AVALON RATHGEB   

Avalon was born in South Devon, England where she trained at her mothers dancing school. At the age of 18 she was awarded a 3 year full-time Scholarship to train at the renowned dance college Doreen Bird, London. 


At the end of her 3rd year Avalon was invited to complete an internship with the American Tap Dance Foundation, NYC. From there she travelled to Melbourne to take classes with Grant Swift and perform with TeAyPe (10 piece hip hop / funk band featuring tap dance co-created by Winston Morrison and Grant Swift). 


Since arriving back in London in 2012 Avalon has taken the tap scene by force, teaching, performing and mentoring many students and performers throughout the UK. She currently teaches at four different studios, is part of four part time Tap companies- Juggling On Tap, Ticket Theatre Dance, Bruckfeet Productions, Post Olympic and performs and works with Simeon Weedall.


Avalon was invited back by the American Tap Dance Foundation in 2011 to complete a second internship and has studied and performed at Stockholm, Los Angeles and Prague Tap festivals in 2012.  


Avalon will feature along with Juggling on Tap in an international Tap documentary- TapWorld in 2013.   Her most gratifying moment was performing in the opening ceremony of the London 2012 Olympics.
